Adriano Celentano

Almost a Pamphlet

Adriano Celentano might be 73, but the Italian showman's passion for music has not waned and nor has his love of making waves. The artist, perhaps Italy's most popular entertainer after a 50-year career spanning composing, singing, acting, film directing and hosting controversial hit TV shows, releases a new album on November 29.

Entitled Facciamo Finta che Sia Vero (Let's Pretend It's True), Celentano's first studio album since 2007 features a number of political songs addressing issues such as the economic crisis, the problems of Italy's political class and international conflict.

''It's a shout of rage, almost a pamphlet,'' Celentano's wife Claudia Mori told reporters.
