Italian News - June 14
Blood tests will be mandatory in Italy's top two soccer divisions next season in an effort to detect illegal transfusions and the performance-enhancing hormone EPO.
The league and the players' association announced the agreement Monday.
Optional blood tests were in effect last season but several players, including AC Milan's Gennaro Gattuso and Giuseppe Pancaro, refused to take them.
