Italian Movies - December 18

The long-crowned king of the Italian box, Leonardo Pieraccioni is back again this Christmas, with something of a language lesson weaved inside his new romantic comedy. Elizabeth Browning asked the question How do I love thee, let me count the ways? and the theme of Pieraccionis new film somewhat mirrors that quest, featuring the many ways to say I love you in different languages around the world.

The film is actually called Ti amo in tutte le lingue del mondo (I love you in all the languages in the world) and was released in 550 prints from December 16, distributed by Medusa. It is actually the story of a gym teacher who is pursued by one of his pupils who has a huge crush on him, while he is trying to start a love affair with someone his own age, with a twist in the tale that cannot be revealed. The cast includes some of Pieraccionis regular performers: Massimo Ceccherini, Rocco Papaleo, Barbara Enrichi and then Giorgio Panariello and his idol Francesco Guccini playing the small-minded headmaster.
