American actor Bruce Willis has agreed to head the jury at this year's Miss Italy beauty pageant. The 50-year-old 'Die Hard' star will be on hand for the final night of the pageant which will be broadcast live by Italian state television on Monday, September 19.
This will be the first time that a Hollywood star has crowned Miss Italy. Chief organizer Patrizia Mirigliani said this will be fitting because "the movies have always been the big dream of most of the girls taking part.We thought we'd surprise the girls by inviting a big star who is also considered a major sex symbol ."
According to presenter Carlo Conti, "we have been looking for a major Hollywood name for some time, although the Miss Italy jury has always been headed by a famous personality. These have included Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni, Catherine Deneuve, Alain Delon, Gerard Depardieu and Claudia Cardinale, just to name a few."
