Alberico Di Cecco beat Kenyans Philip Manyim and Daniel Yego to win the Rome Marathon on Sunday.
Di Cecco, who placed ninth at the Olympic marathon last year, completed the race in 2 hours, 8 minutes, 2 seconds. Manyim was second, five seconds behind, and Yego was third, 14 seconds behind the winner.
Silvia Skvortsova of Russia won the women's race in 2:28:01.
