Italian Nominations - January 26

There are two Italians among the Oscar nominations for the 77th edition of the Academy Awards: they are Dante Ferretti and Francesca Lo Schiavo, the art director and set decorator on The Aviator, the film by Martin Scorsese that has received a total of 11 Oscar nominations.

Another Italian who has made it to the short list of the Oscar nominations is Luigi Falorni, one of the authors of the feature length documentary "The Story of the Weeping Camel". The film was made in the Monglian desert and is the story of an Albino camel who is rejected by its mother. Falorni was born in Florence in 1971 but now works in Germany, and he made this documentary together with Byambasuren Davaa.
